Adventure Racing is a unique sporting activity combining a wide variety of disciplines. Thailand has a number of well established events, organised by www.active-asia.com, which attract participants from around the world. Some events are for teams and some for individuals. If you are looking to test your fitness to the extreme or just want an active day out in some beautiful countryside then you'll find something here for you:

"Amazing Dash" series is for those who want to compete on an individual level. The races are shorter than the other events (1.5-3hrs) so are suitable for anyone with an adventurous spirit. Disciplines are expected to include mountain biking, woodland trails and off road running as well as a number of surprise obstacles along the course! www.adventuredash.com

"North Face River Kwai Trophy" - This event combines a challenging one day race with the magnificent beauty of the River Kwai Valley. Disciplines include biking, running and kayaking. This event is for teams of two racers with two different levels of competition; Extreme (for the very fit) and Adventure (for beginners). Course completion times are expected to be in the range of 4.5-8hrs and 3-5hrs respectively. www.riverkwaitrophy.com

"Chiang Mai Challenge" - Racing through the mountains surrounding Chiang Mai, this event includes biking, running, kayaking and swimming. There is only one level at which to compete. The course completion time is expected to be in the region of 3-6hrs. www.chiangmaichallenge.com

"The Yara Bangkok Challenge" - The race features biking, running, kayaking and swimming through scenic trails, paddy fields, lakes, canals, temples and the farmlands of eastern Bangkok. This event is for teams of two racers with two different levels available at which to compete; Extreme (for the very fit) and Adventure (for beginners). Hello All,
Still looking to recruit a group of individuals for an ultimate frisbee, rafting and camping weekend in Khao Yai. The plan was to arrange this for the weekend of February 7th.

Further to a suggestion from one of the Ultimate Frisbee group, Sports Network are looking to arrange a Ultimate Frisbee, Rafting and Camping weekend in Khao Yai. It will probably be the weekend of the 7th February. If you fancy trying something different just block out your diaries and await event info!!

Adventure dash series, starting 19th January, looks like a nice introduction for beginners (i've added it to events). Does anyone else organise adventure races or is this dominated by active asia?
