For Thai Boxing try one of the following:

If you are looking for affordable classes residential or non residential e.g "$1000 gets you 40 days training with our professional training team. This is a fully residential training course and it includes breakfast, hot showers, free washing machines and unlimited use of fitness gym." You may want to try www.mtitt.com . They also provide taster sessions, so if you're interested in the courses, but not sure Muay Thai is for you, then why not book a taster session?

www.chacritmuaythaischool.com run a small Muay Thai school in central Bangkok (Washington Square next to Soi 22 on Sukhumvit Road) and offer one-on-one training at affordable prices for novices as well as professionals. Any nationals and ages welcome, both women and men. If you are more into a genuine Down-to-earth Thai experience, you can even stay with the owner at his house eat and drink with him and go to the school for classes with him in his car!

P'N Gym - near Saphan Kwai BTS it's on the roof of a guesthouse. There are a couple of trainers there. The trainers come in the afternoon 3pm-7pm. It's about 300 baht per session.

Kick Boxing "1980s Style" as I Lovingly call it! Mu Gen Do Kick Boxing!
What about a bit of 1980s style kick boxing?

LOL! When a mans in the late 30s, elbows to head in Muay Thai not too appealing. (had enough bottles broken over my head in a "non sporting" events over the years. so no thanks elbows!) Plus I find in muay thai which I love training, unless one is going to do a "real" MT fight, not a "make the farang think its real" etc.. there is no "sparring" hardly in any MT gym I've been in. (sort of seems like "sabai sabai" why bother, if not fighting.)

Back in Ireland, (I m 25 years now in & out of Mugendo Kick Boxing) aside from my few small time events - Irish champ full contact 1 year (who wasn't? lol kick boxing so many fragmented orgs) & few internationals for Ireland in finished '96 fighting but did 1 fight in 2000 or 2001. When that all passed, just for fun, work out, sport in house in gym all I ever did was spar, usually take it easy, have a bit of fun. (ok rare shiner, but no more worse than fun game of rugby). 50% contact... train for fun, spar for run, & your skills there if you need to ramp it up ever.

I miss that Kick Boxing & most clubs Ireland & UK guys in their 60s come in for their spar. My own Kick Boxer Teacher is 70+ now in Ireland & he can still do Box Splits.

I was thinking separate from Krav Maga I teach in Pattaya. Getting some sort of an Informal group, youngest perm resident average age in Pattaya is 55 I think. Get a few active 55 ish (younger & older welcome once a week for fitness fun kick boxing work boxing pads drills, kick, stretch, do v light continuous contact to body spar. Proper 1980s Kicking Boxing (NOT Body Combat) google Benny "The Jet" Uriquidez new web site see his vids, he's teaching this way now to ordinary people.

Any ideas, thoughts, inputs, etc...
(Separate from Krav Maga, meaning Kick Boxing more informal fun & 100B per group session... getting the old feckers out of the beer bars in Pattaya is the problem & sees aside from Muay Thai scene, most Thai people are not say per capita when compared to other countries, not really interested in martial arts, add in many not like to learn of farang.) Not easy to get these things going, esp in Pattaya.
All ideas welcome please!
Gerry

Hi chris, could you please add http://www.mtitt.com to the Muay Thai links. It's the gym where I train.

Cheers,
Z

PS. I have my first fight on March 4th at the MBK arena.
