Golf course in Thailand...

Thailand’s offers a range of excellent golf courses. Novices and starters have a great opportunity to get a round of golf in at a price that’s not going to break the bank. But if you are a seasoned pro, you will love golf in Thailand – the courses are designed to international standards and are quite a challenge!

www.Thaigolfer.com offer a golf course discount card that should pay for itself in only a few rounds of golf.

For golf groups two recommended clubs are:

www.bkkbwgc.com
The Bangkok Wanderers Golf Club is a friendly society comprised of fairly eclectic, sometimes eccentric, individuals living in and around Bangkok. They come together twice a month or so for fun golf tournaments, and during each year wander to some of Thailand's finest golf courses. Membership is open and a Wanderers handicap is given after submitting cards at three events.

The Londoner Golf Club www.londonergolfclub-bkk.com. plays every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, sign up with the secretary, mark your diaries and be there no later than 30 minutes before the first tee time.

If you want to play in a league try the Bangkok Golf league. Matchplay competition - 9 teams of 8 players that meet once a month. For more details visit http://uk.geocities.com/bkkgolfleague

Double Pricing on Golf Courses

How do you feel about 'double pricing' on golf courses? I think it's a disgrace. Bangpoo, Rose Garden, Suwan, to name a few. I will never play in these courses, unless I absolutely have to. Fee...

For those who are interested in WGC (World Golf Championship) matches, here's my pundits.

I'm just gonna go through the interesting pairs...

Rory McIlroy (NIR) vs Hunter Mahan (USA)

Rory is 19 yr old teenager, who just had his first win at European tour. His win was long over due because he's been on the top of the leader board for the entire 2008 season, yet failed to deliver the finishing touch. Now that he has won, he must feel like he's on the top of his game.

Hunter Mahan? He's just glad he didn't get knocked out on the first stage... He's gonna make way for the new kid McIlroy for sure.

--------------------------------------------------
Tiger Woods (GOD) vs Tim Clark (RSA)

Need I say anything here? TW will win. But the interesting is not that he's gonna win, but he will face Rory McIlroy next. It's gonna be interesting to see how Rory handles the situation when faced with GOD of Golf. Rory will lose, but he will be graded on how tough of a fight he puts up with Tiger.

-------------------------------------------------
Camillo Villegas (Columbia) vs. Miguel Angel Cabbrera (Spain)

Tough match... a new blood vs old leather. Both very fierce characters... Villegas, aka Spiderman, is powerful and wild, and Cabbrera is sneaky and skilled.

I figure Villegas is the favorite here because he's very good when it comes to match plays, while Cabbrera is very poor at match plays...

Now, the winner here will surely meet Tiger next... Again, it's not about winning Tiger, but it's about how tough you put up with him. Villegas has very good chance of beating Tiger, but Tiger has better chance of beating Villegas... so go figure...

---------------------------
VJ Singh (Fiji) vs Luke Donald (Eng)

The Englishman is no match for the Fijian. The pretty boy Donald will be lucky if he doesn't get totally tramped.

The match between VJ and Donald is not interesting, but the next match is... it's gonna be between two old timers. VJ and Els.

No telling who's the better of the two, but if you look at the statistics, VJ is the favorite to win. But Ernie is no gimme either. If he's feeling good that day, VJ will have a very tough challenge.

---------------------------
Phil Mickelson (USA) vs Zach Johnson (USA)

Phil the lefty is just coming off a hard won victory at Reviera, where he almost blew a 4 shot lead, but came back from the edge of the hell to win the event by one stroke.

Zach... well... ever since he won the US open (or was it the Master) he has not played very well... and although he's gonna put up a decent fight, he's no match for Phil.

---------------------------
Phil will play either VJ or Els... The three of them are the BIG 3 of the Golf world... the 'forever second best' after Tiger. So it'd be interesting to see who's gonna step up and claim the title of 'World's second best golfer.'

-----------------------------------------------------
Pat Perez (USA) vs Oliver Fisher (ENG)

Not difficult to predict at all. Oliver Fisher will be humilliated by Pat. Fisher is not a bad player, but he's a choker. When it comes to playoff holes or match plays, he's gonna shank and duff all the way.

---------------------------------------------
Anthony Kim (USA) vs Oliver Wilson (Eng)

Wilson is not bad, and his form at the Ryder Cup was good... but AK is younger, better, and cooler.

AK will have a picnic against the Englishman.

-----------------------------------------------

Ian Poulter (Eng) vs Charles Swartzchel (?)

I've never heard of the other guy Charles, but he beat Sergio Garcia in the first round so he's not bad himself.

Still, Ian Poulter will prevail. Poulter is the only guy from England who's got any sort of nerve, despite roumours that he's gay. But hey, if wearing pink pants and lavender shirt makes him play well, why not....

--------------------------------------------------------

Now, on the quarter final, I predict these four gentlemen will be left standing.

Tiger Wood, Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, Anthony Kim.

The bracket dictates Tiger Wood play Phil, and Poulter play AK, before they go on to the Finals.

I REALLY hope the final show down will be between Tiger Woods and Anthony Kim... Oh.... I get goose bumps just thinking about it...

Anyway, that was my take on the WGC match plays...

I'm new here. I love golf and I dream about playing in majors before I goto sleep every night. I think I can beat Sergio or Luke Donald, but I think I'll lose to VJ or Els... I'd like to try a play off hole with AK, but I can't be sure if I can beat that guy.

OF course, I'm only dreaming. ^^
