I would guess the biggest in name is the Southerners Sports Club?! This could be a very controversial statement so I stand corrected if I'm wrong? http://www.southerners-bangkok.com/

Part of the Southerners, there is also Touch Rugby at NIST (New International School of Thailand) on Sukhumvit Soi 15 most Saturday mornings - 10am to 12pm - open to anyone who is up for a good run or burnout as the case may be! Take photo I.D, 100baht to help cover costs of field and water bottle!

Then the old rivals, fresh from victory in September, the Bangkok Bangers RFC. These guys have 6 very admirable objectives: To Provide a fun rugby competition for older expats in Thailand. Provide a platform for the rugby community in Thailand. Have regular social events. Invite the Thai community to join in to promote the sport. Set up a Thailand National competition (with Phuket, Pattaya etc.). Eventually host an Asia Pacific Golden Oldies Festival!!

If your looking to play youth rugby (age 4-17) then look no further than the Bangkok Lions sponsored by DHL. Contact Ahmed Fawsi ahmed@fawzi.id.au for more information.

Get involved in the fantastic contribution to Thai youth rugby, driven by Andy Campbell of The Lecesiter Tigers! www.thaiyouthrugby.org I've never had the pleasure of meeting Andy but from everything I've heard and read he has made a huge contribution to rugby accross the whole country and dug deep into his own pockets to support the poorest of schools.

REMINDER...... Saturday morning TOUCH

For the month of July weekend touch is on Saturdays from 10am – 12pm (midday) at KIS International School.

The address is Muban Kesinee Ville, Pracha-Utit Road, Huay Kwang. The nearest public transport is Thailand Cultural Centre MRT station, you can take a taxi (or motorbike) from there (5-10 mins).

If you are coming by car or taxi, from Ekamai, head North towards Petchburi, cross Petchburi, keep going, cross Rama 9. Keep the entrance to the highway on the right, and continue in the left lane. Turn left at the lights (this is Pracha-Utit) and turn right into the Muban after about 4 km, just past a Tesco express. The school is on the left around 200 meters into the Muban and the field is right in the front.

Wales have to be favourites, but Ireland or maybe England could suprise. France may still beat Wales and leave no side undefeated.

Where's your money for this years tournament?
Roger F Comment by Roger F on February 12, 2009 at 9:45pm
England's Rugby team made hard work of their win against Italy, it was the
> least exiting of the three weekend matches. If they are going to give Wales
> a good game in Cardiff on Saturday they are going to have to up their game
> considerably

Hi Mark, You may find the "events" function a useful way of promoting your 10's and 7's tournaments. They're easy to set up, you can have invites and rsvps (if you want) and all the details appear on the front page - so everyone will hear them. Thanks for all the info!
Mark Anderson Comment by Mark Anderson on December 1, 2008 at 3:13pm
The Southerners Sports Club is always looking to recruit new players.

I believe we have a good balance between playing serious rugby while still being a social team. We play plenty of matches each year, mostly between August and December (we have played 10 15-a-side games, 3 10's tournaments and a 7's tournament this calendar year).

From January until August we play mostly 10's rugby.

We train Thursday nights at ISB and get a free ride courtesy of the Crown Relocations mini-van, one of our most loyal sponsors. We are also sponsored by The Londoner Brew Pub which is our home base, Guinness, and Bangkok Hospital.

Visit our website at www.southerners-bangkok.com or e-mail Mark at markrichardanderson@gmail.com for more information.
