May sneak in a late afternoon trip to Rayong for some Paddle Board Surfing this Monday afternoon. If I am reading these swell charts right it may be good. If I go I will have spare board to take if anyone would like to join. If now waves, will be nice to explore the coastline, I have not done that yet as has always been waves so far.

Had to share this mail come in today,

Surf was awesome today, found a new spot between Khao Lak and Phuket, long shoulder high thick waves, only Lee and I out, so glassy it was difficult to see the waves. Please try and find an excuse to come down because you're going to love it.

Can't get enough of the SUP, I've been thinking about my next board already, purely for wave riding. Around about the same length, maybe slightly shorter, definitely lighter, less volume and less width, 26-28 wide with a longboard shape, one long continuous curve. The 10"5 really motors, its a straight line speed machine, it seems to pick up more and more speed down the line even without paddling. Slowly getting more confident but I can see that I have so much to learn, especially paddling skills and board positioning which I now know is key. Cheers, speak soon.

SUP rocks, after 2 years the fascination is only growing for me.

Yesturday evening, my wife, K. Luk (lady luck) our other lady staff and I went out in heavily jelly fish infested waters and paddled down to the local pizza bar. Drew some pictures in the sand and headed home with an amazing painted sky behind us. My wife, Amara fell once on the way home because she stopped concentrating to check out some local architecture, but managed to dodge the marine life. Jelly season will be soon be over. Sept/October Sunset cruises on SUP were a treat last year.

Your skills will grow fast on SUP. Especially if you love it.

Check out the video we made last week.

The Event Rafting in Kao Yai National Park with the Plant a Tree Org. is definately somthing we will go out on a limb for even if it is not in our neck of the woods. We will actually Leaf our Windsurfing Beach Club in Jomtien and come along for some serious tree hugging, of course we will bring some Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) along in case anyone would like to walk on

water near the campsite. Anyone else like to join this event? 12-13th Sept?

Great little waves with very strong on-shore wind in Pattaya yesturday. Not ideal for SUP, as you have to paddle into strong wind, but if you do not mind a little work to earn the reward of getting a short ride, then great fun. Can hardly move today, 1 hour of SUP and couple of hours of windsurfing.

The first Stand Up PaddleBoarding World Cup race was held in Hamburg Germany last month. Jever Beer and Naish sponsored the event. Starboard Team rider Ekolu Kalama won the event on a Starboard K15 SUP.
